Conservation of Material Culture Heritage
The Conservation of Material Culture Heritage program opened in 2010. The unique program combines academic research with practical aspects of conservation.
For many years the field of conservation of culture heritage is a well recognized program for study and research in the world’s top universities. The gaining recognition of the conservation of culture heritage field in Israel, and the increased demand for conservation professionals, yielded the need for a special academic program for this field.
Studies in this program focus on the various aspects of conservation. The program instructs by experts from Israel and abroad, researchers of materials and technologies science, and cultural heritage specialists.
The program provides its graduates with encompassing knowledge, both in theory and practice, of many aspects of conservation: from cultural and humanistic background to archaeological conservation, preservation of historical structures, and conservation of artifacts and artwork.
The program includes many aspects of conservation research, theoretical and practical studies, and instructed internships (which include, among others, projects from the Israel Antiquities Authority).
